#BeingMyTrueAuthenticSelf is a short film with no dialogue. It follows the cycle of a young woman who is DESPERATE to be noticed, seen, recognized and loved on social media. She is stuck in a cycle...a loop... of fantasy pitting itself against reality. Knowing the harm her obsession is causing, her unquenchable need to belong keeps her perpetuating a self-destructing cycle. These two inner desires fight and battle to the bitter end. #BeingMyTrueAuthenticSelf is a short film that ultimately highlights a social and cultural issue that is destroying the lives of so many young women across the globe.

Sydney is doing everything she can to meet the demands of being a new mom. She feels the pressure to bounce back, care for the baby, and be the best wife. Exhausted from a lack of uninterrupted sleep, a never-ending stream of dirty laundry, and pumping until her nipples are sore, Sydney decides to return to the office as a means to feel “normal” again. However, unable to secure childcare, she remains tied to the house. Turning to her husband Derrick for comfort, whose blind to her unhappiness, a depressed and seemingly alone Sydney loses the battle within herself.

16-year-old Daniel is excited, he just graduated from the Youth Law Enforcement program for young teens who want to pursue a career in law enforcement. During his short walk home, Daniel encounters a few unsavory officers. Scared and alone, Daniel contacts his parents . In the past, Carrol Lynn grapples with a strained relationship to her family and her own abusive tendencies. Jenny is forced to grow up in the wake of her mother’s whims. She has a seeming respite in her doting father Herbert, but things take an unexpected turn and life changes for all of them.
